2. Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) Regulation: Vitamin D needed for PTH production, which controls calcium levels in the blood.

3. Insulin Regulation: Vitamin D plays important role in insulin sensitivity, decreasing risk of type 2 diabetes.

4. Thyroid Hormone Regulation: Thyroid cells have Vitamin D receptors, which helps to regulate thyroid hormone.

 

 Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to various hormonal imbalances, including:

 

1. Hypothyroidism: Lack of Vitamin D cause hypothyroidism, decrease thyroid gland function.

2. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): Due to less sun exposure especially in women’s, leads to decrease in vitamin D level, which may cause disturbance of mainly female hormones occurring to PCOS, and effects on ovulation and fertility.
